Senior Account Executive

As a result of continued growth, we have an immediate need for an Senior Account Executive to join our sales team in our Pittsburgh, PA operational headquarters. The Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) industry continues to expand as businesses turn their technology needs to a more fiscally sound, secure and flexible solution.

The Senior Account Executive is exclusively a 'hunter' role.  This position is responsible for hunting and closing new business by way of prospecting, building relationships and closing new sales.  

The efforts of the sales team at Expedient are strongly supported internally.  Directors of Market Strategy provide help in networking the local tech market and opening doors.  Solutions Architects provide technical subject matter expertise to ensure the client understands the technology and gets the very best solution for their needs. All of these resources are employed to ensure a superior experience for the customer and for the success of the account executive as an individual contributor.  

We are looking for someone with strong solutions-based sales experience in the technical/technology arena.  

Responsibilities:

  • Hunter role that is focused on bringing in new logos/new business to further penetrate the local business market
  • Partner with the business development team and market strategists to prospect and develop plans of action for building new business
  • With the Solutions Architect, prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations on Expedient solutions and technology
  • Provide data center tours for potential clients, host and attend networking events, lunch n' learn events, etc
  • Close new business to meet sales volume quota/sales expectations

Required:

  • Demonstrated success as a Hunter and closer of NEW BUSINESS
  • Familiarity with the local Pittsburgh/Allegheny county area business and technology market
  • Proven experience in solutions-based, business-to-business sales
  • High energy with a strong understanding of customer service and integrity
  • Experience with and general understanding of current technology
  • Ability to quickly learn complex concepts related to technology, infrastructure, various platforms and applications
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Some local travel and occasional travel to other market cities
  • Applicants must provide a cover letter which will demonstrate written communication skills and will explain what skills and experience are being brought to the position
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
